The Sao Paulo Motor Show only comes around every other year, and with Nissan’s large Latin American customer base, you’d better believe the automaker had something special planned. Turns out, Nissan unveiled its new crossover concept – the Nissan Kicks.

“This concept is a product of global collaboration, but it was inspired by the streets of Brazil and designed for its people,” said Mamoru Aoki, Executive Design Director of Nissan’s Global Design Strategy Department.

The Kicks seems to fit in the Nissan lineup right in between the compact JUKE and the mid-size Rogue. Although autoblog.com reports that Nissan says the Kicks was inspired by and designed for the people of Brazil, we have no trouble picturing the Kicks here in the US and abroad, which is apparently exactly what Nissan is thinking, too.

“It’s not only just for the Brazilian market, but we capture the idea of Brazil and then we apply it to our global design improvement, making a stronger design lineup for future Nissan designs,” said Taro Ueda, Vice President of Nissan Design America.

Sharp angles, bold colors, and an ideal size make the Nissan Kicks concept ideal for city dwellers looking for utility.

Here at 171 Nissan, we want to know what you think. Is the Kicks concept a crossover you could see yourself in, or is it just a Juke/Rogue lookalike with an odd name?
