When you think about it, it’s not all that unexpected. The Nissan Juke is almost unclassifiable. Is it a car? An SUV? With a turbo-charged four-cylinder and AWD, maybe it’s a comfortable and capable future Mars rover.
But a snowmobile? Most definitely. All it takes is some minor tweaking and the Nissan Juke Nismo RS would be anybody’s go-to ride in a blizzard.
Nissan recently ordered up such a tweaking and American Track Truck got the call to make the Juke snow-worthy. According to Wired.com, “The Company builds what are, essentially, treads that replace the tires.” They call it the Track Dominator System. Each tire is replaced by a track, not unlike a tank.
It took a little more than just replacing the tires to turn the Nissan Juke Nismo RS into the Nissan Juke Nismo RSnow. The Juke had to be lifted a bit to make room for the tracks. Torque vectoring had to be modified a bit as well.
The RSnow will be assisting something called an “ice-driving academy.” Of course, that’s in Finland where they have those kinds of things.
