When it comes to shopping for a new car, soon-to-be owners essentially want to know that their vehicle is of good quality. According to the J.D. Power U.S. Initial Quality Study, the 2015 Nissan Sentra is one of the highest quality vehicles in its segment. The model recently ranked at the top of its Compact Car class to earn the prestigious award, proving that it outshines the competition.
The Initial Quality Study determines vehicle rankings through an analysis of surveys given to new-vehicle owners and leasers. These owners and leasersare asked to report various problems experienced in the first 90 days of owning the vehicle. Their answers are recorded as problems per 100 vehicles or PP100. The model with the lowest number of problems ranks the highest in its respective segment.
“In the very competitive segment of compact sedans, Sentra continues to separate itself with a strong combination of quality, safety, value, style, and more,” said Fred Diaz, senior vice president for Nissan Sales & Marketing and Operations. He goes on to say that, “driven by owner feedback, the J.D. Power Initial Quality Study serves as an important benchmark for new vehicle quality, further demonstrating the worth of Sentra and Quest as top contenders in their respective segments.”
