A while back, Nissan announced the exciting and original idea of Project Titan, a plan to create the world’s first crowd-sourced truck. And now, here at 171 Nissan, we are thrilled to announce that Project Titan is officially a go. After collecting tons of information and votes on the Nissan Truck’s Facebook page, Nissan has begun building the truck of its customers’ dreams.
Nissan is tracking the progress of Project Titan in a video series. “We partnered with our Nissan Truck fans and the Wounded Warrior Project to create the ultimate Titan for an epic adventure in Alaska,” an announcement at the beginning of the first video says. “Now we’re building it.”
Phase One of Project Titan introduces us to the base platform of the new Titan. It’s built on the 2014 Nissan Titan PRO-4X, with plenty of fan-favorite changes to boot. Phase One also sees the Titan team replace the car’s tires with Nitto Trail Grapplers and replace the normal suspension with a 4” PRG Long Travel Kit edition.
With those changes already in place, we can already see this uniquely customized truck rounding into the perfect shape to tackle the rugged Alaskan wilderness. Check back on the blog for more Project Titan news and keep an eye out for videos of future phases on Nissan’s YouTube channel as well.
