It’s going to be an exciting weekend in Lake Charles! At 171 Nissan, we can’t wait to make it out to the Lake Charles Civic Center events on Saturday, where the Juneteenth Celebration Family Fun Day and the first ever Shrimp and Jazz Festival will be held. Juneteenth will take place in the sports facility of the Civic Center and costs $10 to attend. The Shrimp and Jazz Festival will be held from 11 AM to 7 PM.

The event will include lots of fun games and activities for kids, performances from both local and nationally recognized musical artists, and a celebrity barbecue cook-off.  For those of you who’ve been to this festival in the past, you remember just how fun this event can be!

SaxophoneThe Shrimp and Jazz Festival is intended to make jazz music more available in Lake Charles and will feature Grammy-nominated artist Mickey Smith, Jr., along with many other musicians and, of course, lots of shrimp and food! This festival is a perfect pair to Juneteenth, as both will celebrate Black history and the impact of Black culture.  So come out and see what we’ve got going on in Lake Charles this month and share it with us here at 171 Nissan!
